Introduction

Maha Bodhi School is a government-aided Special Assistance Plan (SAP) school founded by the Singapore Buddhist Federation. The school's vision is to be a premier institution that nurtures students of exemplary character who are bilingual and bicultural. Its educational philosophy is guided by its motto, "To Encompass All Beings with Great Compassion."

As a SAP school, Maha Bodhi provides an immersive environment for the learning of both English and Chinese, grounded in Buddhist values. Its holistic curriculum is enhanced by an Applied Learning Programme (ALP) in environmental science and a Learning for Life Programme (LLP) in the arts. These programmes aim to develop well-rounded individuals with a strong moral compass and a heart for service.

A Brief Historical Background

Established in 1946 by Reverend Chee Hong and a group of Buddhists, Maha Bodhi School started in a shophouse on Geylang Road. It became a government-aided school in 1957 and moved to its current Ubi Avenue 1 location in 1995.
