Si Ling Primary School is a government school committed to nurturing students to become confident persons, self-directed learners, and concerned citizens. The school's vision is to be a "Community of Learners, Leaders and Innovators," and its educational philosophy is anchored in its core values of respect, responsibility, resilience, integrity, care, and harmony.

The school provides a holistic education in a supportive and engaging environment. Its Applied Learning Programme (ALP) is in environmental science for sustainable living, fostering a sense of responsibility towards the planet. The Learning for Life Programme (LLP) is centred on character and leadership development through the arts, aiming to build confidence, creativity, and collaborative skills.

Si Ling Primary School was established in January 1980 and was officially opened on 28 August 1981. The school relocated to its current premises in Woodlands in December 2001.
