Lift and Escalator System Inspection and Testing
About This Course
On completion of the module, students should be able to inspect and evaluate the condition of a lift hoistway, oversee the correct installation of lift equipment and components, as well as carry out heat run and commissioning tests on lift systems in accordance with lift engineering specifications and codes of practice. Students should also be able to troubleshoot, adjust and carry out routine and periodic maintenance of lift system and equipment, perform mandatory lift and escalator tests, as well as identify and recommend upgrading and improvement works to clients .

Entry Requirements
Completed GCE 'N' or GCE 'O' Level; or
Passed BEST Module 4 in Mathematics (for those with work experience); or
Passed ISC in Electrical Servicing, or Mechanical Servicing, or Facility Services, or Residential Air-Conditioning, or Residential Plumbing, or Electrical Wiring; or
Accumulated at least 60 hours of structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) under the Certified On-the-Job Training Centre (COJTC) system. The OJT must be relevant to the course applied for; or
Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 in Speaking and Listening, and Level 4 in Reading and Numeracy
