The pervading misconception is that a promo (short form promotional video and writing) for a product, brand or programme is only a shortened version of the original video that had been created or to create only a shortened version of what is required. What this fails to take into consideration is the need to factor in the media and platform used for the promotion, the action point that is required from the consumer and the ability to capture attention in a matter of seconds.

This module provides participants with an understanding of language, concepts and structure for promotional copywriting and creation across platforms. How writing short is both an art and science with the tools, transmedia concepts and targeting that will move the consumer from “so what about it?” to “count me in” in a matter of seconds.
