About This Course
By attending this course, students will be equipped with required knowledge and skills and will be able to:
(i) Understand the principles of different ACMV systems and able to design the ACMV systems commonly used in buildings.
(ii) Comprehend the requirements and standards set by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark schemes, and develop an understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability principles in building design and operation.
(iii) Develop the skills needed to perform energy modelling of buildings using Integrated Environmental Solutions (Virtual Environment) (IES VE) software to analyse energy consumption and identify opportunities for optimisation.
(iv) Model building’s ACMV system using Autodesk Revit software for integrated design and collaboration.
(v) Comprehend Integrated Building Management Systems (IBMS), including their components, operation, and control strategies and apply these skills in ACMV design works.

Entry Requirements
Applicants need to have a minimum diploma qualification in mechanical engineering from recognized institutions.
Individuals with a minimum diploma qualification in other engineering fields other than mechanical engineering, but with three (3) years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineering will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and may be subjected to interviews or tests before they can be considered for enrolment.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least five (5) years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
