About This Course

This course aims to equip participants with a vendor agnostic knowledge on the protocols and the signaling used for the 5G Core (5GC) infrastructure, including the interfaces in 5GC and the interworking with 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and 5G Radio Access Network (RAN). Participants learning will also be enhanced through the use of various 5GC use case scenarios such as Connection, Registration, Mobility, and Session management based on the 3GPP Release 15.

What You'll Learn

With the disruption around traditional core network architecture design by 5G, there is the rising need to understand the detailed specifications that makes up 5G core (5GC). In collaboration with 5G industry leader Ericsson for this course, participants will gain a vendor agnostic overview of the 5G Core Architecture and how it is different from previous core network generations. Participants will learn 5G Core key concepts and the context behind why certain functionality has been included and what is beyond the 5G Core scope. The course will provide practical examples of network deployment options with protocol details and service descriptions. Tapping on Ericsson’s local and worldwide experiences, the course will include up-to-date use case examples and applications of 5G deployments both locally and overseas. Participants will receive first-hand experience on 5G with practical hands-on sessions on a live 5G network.
