About This Course
Understand the fundamentals of the ACMV systems like unitary and central air conditioning (chiller) systems.
Understand the ACMV systems energy performance characteristics and be able to analyse and densify the potential energy saving in ACMV systems.
Be able to operate and maintain energy-efficient chilled water systems comprising chillers, air handling units and other associated auxiliary equipment resulting in optimum ACMV system performance.
Familiarise with the relevant Singapore standards associated with ACMV systems.

SCEM is a formal training and certification system that offers competent, relevant and holistic training for Energy managers in Singapore. It aims to build competent technical capacity in support of the energy service sector.
Designed for engineering professionals who intend to build their careers as energy managers, the programme gives a thorough understanding of the key energy issues in the industry sector. It will help participants develop the technical skills and competence needed to manage energy services in the organization they serve.
Air-conditioning and Mechanical ventilation (ACMV) systems onsumes a lion share of the total energy consumption in both the commercial and industrial sectors in Singapore. The main components in an ACMV system include chillers, air-handling units along with other auxiliary equipment. The main auxiliary equipment in an ACMV system are chilled water and condenser water pumps, cooling towers and fans. These auxiliary equipment are also very energy intensive in nature. As a matter of fact, there is tremendous potential for the optimisation of the ACMV system. Therefore, as a first step the proper understanding of the ACMV system in a practical point of view is of paramount importance.
This module is tailored in the backdrop of the above and aims to provide a fairly good practical understanding of the ACMV systems targeted at working professionals from both the commercial and industrial sectors.
