Apply 5S Techniques
About This Course
This course is developed to enable an individual to acquire the skills and knowledge in Apply 5S Techniques at the work place. It is a systematic approach that workers can use to make 5S concepts and breakthrough improvements in Processes, Quality, Productivity, Safety, and Storage space that produce products and services for customers.
The nominal training hours required for this course is 16 hours. All learners are required to sit for assessment for this competency unit to assess the application of the knowledge and skills acquired
On completion of this unit, learners will have the knowledge and application skills in participating in Apply 5S Techniques and will be able to apply them to the workplace. These skills include:
• Relate to team members from a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities
• Communicate with others
• Assist team establishment
• Assist development of a team culture in 5S.
• Assist improving team performance in 5S.

Seiri – Clear unnecessary items from work area
Seiton – Organize work area in an orderly manner
Seiso – Clean work area
Seiketsu - Maintain work area cleanliness
Shitsuke - Maintain self-discipline in work area

Suitable for operational/admin level worker, technician, or individual who wish to enter the manufacturing industry
Entry Requirements
The assumed skills and knowledge or entry requirements for this unit are as follows. Learners are assumed to:
• Minimum age requirement: 25
• Able to speak, listen, write, and read English with Numeracy skills at a minimum proficiency level 4 of the Employability Skills System (i.e., Workplace Literacy and Numeracy, WPLN).
Working experience and duration:
-At least 2 years working experience in manufacturing, engineer associates, technician, or team leader
