About This Course
The goals of the above workshop are to help participants:
• Experience first-hand the joy, satisfaction and benefits of music and movement.
• Understand the importance and benefits of Music and Movement in Early Childhood Education.
• Identify the characteristics and musical behaviours of toddlers.
• Be equipped with the basic skills and concepts in developing musicality in toddlers.
• Be equipped with the basic knowledge of elements of music and movement.
• Develop/ design developmentally appropriate music and movement experiences based on specific developmental goals.
What You'll Learn
The 2-day hands-on workshop will encompass the following course content:
• Hands-on Kinesthetic experience in Music and Movement.
• Importance of Music and Movement in Toddlers.
• Musical characteristics and behaviours of Toddlers.
• Basic Skills and concepts in developing musicality in toddlers.
• Element of Music and Movement.
• Selection of developmentally appropriate songs and music for toddlers.
• Design and select activities to support specific developmental musical goals of toddlers.
• Conducting developmentally appropriate musical activities with toddlers.
• Use of instruments and props to enhance the music movement experience.
• Use of musical stories to enhance the toddlers’ music experience.
• Hands-on Kinesthetic experience in Music and Movement.
• Importance of Music and Movement in Toddlers.
• Musical characteristics and behaviours of Toddlers.
• Basic Skills and concepts in developing musicality in toddlers.
• Element of Music and Movement.
• Selection of developmentally appropriate songs and music for toddlers.
• Design and select activities to support specific developmental musical goals of toddlers.
• Conducting developmentally appropriate musical activities with toddlers.

Entry Requirements
Secondary 2 qualifications or Completed 8 years of formal education (medium of instruction must be in English)
