About This Course
For the first part, you will start by learning how to design websites using WordPress. WordPress is a popular Web design and content management system that allows you to easily create and manage your own website without any coding knowledge. You will learn how to choose and install a WordPress theme, add content and pages, configure settings, and much more. This will be a very useful skillset especially in a Small & Medium Enterprise settings.
You will also learn how to use Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Illustrator is a vector graphics editor that allows you to create illustrations, logos, icons, and other graphics using vectors rather than pixels. Photoshop is a raster graphics editor that allows you to edit photos, create graphics, and design webpages. Both Illustrator and Photoshop are essential tools for any UIUX designer.
For the second part, you will learn about the principles and basics of Usability of user experience design. User experience design is the process of creating a user experience for a software application. User interfaces are designed to make it easy for users to interact with the applications they use, and they can be divided into two main categories: graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and human-computer interaction (HCI). GUI designs focus on creating an attractive and easy-to-use interface that allows users to navigate around the application. HCI designs focus on making sure that the user experience is comfortable and intuitive, including factors such as how well the user understands the controls and how easily they can navigate through the application.

Entry Requirements
Academic Level Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience in UI/UX design, web development, digital design, or related industries. - Candidates with NITEC or "N/O" Level qualifications are also encouraged to apply if they have relevant work experience or have completed foundational certifications in UI/UX design, web development, graphic design, or related areas (e.g., UI/UX design courses, digital design certifications from NTUC LearningHub or other accredited institutions).
Language Proficiency:
- Be able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 6
Work Experience Required:
- Basic knowledge and hands-on experience in design tools, web development, UI/UX principles, or related fields will be considered a plus. - Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with operating systems, software applications, email, internet browsers, and social media platforms.
