About This Course
This module is designed to train and equip supervisors to allocate cleaning chemicals required for cleaning biohazard decontamination processes
What You'll Learn
Learners will be able to:
- Determine the quantity and types and uses of cleaning chemicals for biohazard decontamination
- Interpret common chemical safety and hazard symbols and information on labels of cleaning chemicals correctly.
- Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Assess the use of cleaning chemicals
- Identify relevant requirements for handling cleaning chemicals
- Identify organizational procedures relating to preparation of cleaning chemicals
- Allocate the appropriate personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect workers when handing cleaning chemicals and biohazard decontamination
- Conduct a briefing for workers prior to biohazard decontamination.
- Monitor worker compliance with safety requirements and to meet biohazard decontamination standards
- Inform appropriate person in-charge in accordance with organisational procedures when there is discrepancy at work.
- Allocate resources to replenish the cleaning chemicals at the store

Entry Requirements
Be above 18 years of age
Able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL) 3 / (lower secondary education)
Have work experience in the cleaning industry
Understand and apply industry standards and organisational procedures related to performing cleaning activities
Understand and apply industrial standards and practices relating to use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Have knowledge of the cleaning agents used in performing cleaning activities
