About This Course
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
(1) Identify and mitigate risk factors in physical movements
(2) Classify the various types of sport injuries
(3) Apply appropriate first-aid treatment for trauma injuries
(4) Advocate on the prevention of acute sport injuries
(5) Advocate for basic sports care and prevention of sport injuries resulting from overuse
(6) Counsel athletes on sports-related health and well-being matters
(7) Coach sports-persons on the planning of their fluid intake, prevention and execution of first-aid for persons suffering from heat injury
(8) Acquire skills to perform joint taping for common sport injuries
(9) Coach sports-persons on the care and prevention of acute and chronic sports injuries
What You'll Learn
Throughout the workshop, learners will not only acquire practical skills in providing first aid but also develop competence in the management of various sports injuries, such as open wounds, strains, sprains, and chronic injuries. These fundamental skills are crucial for ensuring the well-being of athletes and individuals engaging in sports activities.
Upon completion of the workshop, learners will have the opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills by enrolling in the "Sports Trainer" certification course provided by Sports SG. This further certification will enable learners to enhance their professional capabilities and play a more significant role in the field of sports training and injury management.
Entry Requirements
This programme is suitable for those working/ intending to work in the sports or sports health industry. Prior knowledge in first aid will be an advantage.
