About This Course
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
• Appreciate that there is no one law or legislation governing the practice of marketing, advertising, and sales, but that a combination of laws, regulations, and guidelines define the legal landscape
• Understand the do’s, don’ts, and red flags associated with marketing, advertising, and selling
• Learn about common pitfalls associated with online marketplaces and transactions, including electronic agreements, invoices, payments, etc.
• Understand how to deal with consumer feedback, complaints, and requests tactfully and legally
• Be familiar with consumer-protection laws and processes, in particular, the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act and proceedings under the Consumer Association of Singapore
• Understand how sellers may be liable to consumers for defective products/services, how consumers may seek redress, and what sellers must do to respond to complaints/ requests for redress
