About This Course

This module aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge and basic principles in the Second Law of Thermodynamics Power Cycles, Air compressors, Conservation of Momentum and Conservation of Energy. Hands-on laboratory classes will reinforce the concepts learnt and will allow to develop robust practical skill-sets on the topics studied.

What You'll Learn

To provide participants with knowledge of 2nd Law of Thermodynamics , to perform energy calculation on the gas power cycles, steam power cycles and air compressor, the calculation of force based on conservation of momentum of flow and apply bernoulli’s equation based on conservation of energy of flow

Entry Requirements

Applicant must fulfil either of the following Tracks:

Track 1
1. Applicant must have attained Certificate in Competency 2nd Grade Steam Engineer
AND
2. Has a local Polytechnic Engineering Diploma or a recognised Engineering Degree by the Singapore Professional Engineers Board

OR

Track 2
Applicant must have attained the following:
1. Class 1 Boiler Attendant's Certificate of Competency
AND
2. Certificate of Competency 2nd Grade Steam Engineer
