WSQ Drone Build and Beta Flight
About This Course
This course guides you step-by-step to build a DIY drone, which you can keep to continue practising after the training.
There are 3 learning units:
LU1 – Drone Components: The first step is to understand the pros and cons between ready-made versus DIY drones, enabling informed choices. When a DIY drone is more suitable, the next step is to choose the components and tools needed to build it sustainably, without unnecessary extras.
LU2 – Build the Drone: With the components understood, the next step is moving on to the DIY drone's actual construction. This hands-on unit ensures that the components are put together following best practices and abiding by risk management protocols.
LU3 - Calibrate the Drone: When the drone is built, the next step is calibration. This step involves integrating the DIY drone with the flight controller software, exploring the various parameters found on the tuning software and integrating these into the DIY drone.
LU4 – Optimise the Drone: After calibration, the DIY drone can take flight but may not yet operate at peak efficiency. The next step is to optimize the drone. This involves reviewing the flight logs, evaluating various performance metrics, aligning them to intended business usage and fine-tuning for optimal efficiency.
What You'll Learn
1. Able to select the components and tools required to build a DIY drone for intended business usage
2. Able to apply risk management protocols when building a DIY drone
3. Able to calibrate a drone according to intended business usage by exploring the parameters available on the tuning software.
4. Able to use flight logs to interpret the performance metrics used to measure the effectiveness of calibration for intended business usage
