About This Course
This training course allows seafarers to comply with Regulation V/3 of the Standards of Training, Certifi cation and Watchkeeping forSeafarers (STCW) Convention, "Mandatory minimum requirements for the training and qualifi cations of masters, ratings and otherpersonnel on ships subject to the IGF Code"
The course is designed for the seafarers responsible for fuels and fuels on board ships subject to the International Code of Safety for Shipsusing Gases or other Low-fl ashpoint Fuels (IGF Code). The course content complies with Section A-V/3, paragraph 2 of the STCW Code.
What You'll Learn
The use of gas, such as Liquefi ed natural gas (LNG), and other low-fl ashpoint fuels as ships’ fuel has increased in recent years and posesadditional safety challenges. To manage such challenges, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) adopted the International Code ofSafety for Ships using Gases or other Low-fl ashpoint Fuels (IGF Code) in 2015 and added related aspects to Standards of Training,Certifi cation and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) convention.
Entry Requirements
Participants should have Advanced Fire Fighting Course or any equivalent certifi cate may be accepted.
