About This Course
This is a part-time course. This programme is designed for career switchers aiming to break into the field of data analytics. It offers a structured learning path covering data analysis fundamentals, tools, and techniques, making it suitable for individuals with little to no prior experience in programming or analytics. The course begins with foundational modules in data literacy and Excel, gradually progressing to data visualisation, statistics, and basic programming with Python.
Participants will gain practical experience using industry-relevant tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SQL for data extraction and analysis. The course also prepares learners for globally recognised certifications from Microsoft and Python Institute, enhancing their employability and technical credibility.
In addition to technical skills, the programme explores generative AI and data storytelling to help participants communicate insights effectively and understand emerging trends in AI-driven analytics. Learners will also be equipped with knowledge of Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), ensuring they understand data governance and compliance in a business context.
The course culminates in a capstone project that enables learners to apply their skills to solve practical problems using real-world datasets. By the end of the programme, participants will be equipped with the analytical mindset, tool proficiency, and industry-relevant skills to take on junior data analyst roles in various sectors.
What You'll Learn
They will also learn how to extract and query data using Transact-SQL and create impactful dashboards with Microsoft Power BI. The programme introduces Python programming and prepares learners for the PCEP certification, enabling them to perform data wrangling, visualisation, and basic analytics using Python libraries. In addition, participants will explore key statistical techniques for data interpretation and develop data storytelling skills to present insights effectively.
The programme includes a dedicated module on Generative AI, helping learners understand how AI tools can enhance data storytelling and automate insight generation. To ensure responsible handling of personal data, participants will also be equipped with essential knowledge of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
Through a final capstone project, learners will apply their skills to solve real-world problems, integrating tools and techniques learned throughout the course.
