About This Course
This is a part-time course. Our SCTP Desktop Support Engineer course is meticulously designed to provide you with the critical skills and professional knowledge required to launch a successful career in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector. This course offers a comprehensive blend of theory and hands-on training, ensuring you gain practical experience with both Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems, as well as foundational knowledge in ITIL 4 and desktop administration. Through immersive, real-world scenarios, you will develop the expertise needed to excel as a Desktop Support Engineer.
What You'll Learn
Participants will start with CompTIA A+, a globally recognized course that provides fundamental knowledge of hardware, software, troubleshooting, and security. Following this, CompTIA Network+ will deepen their understanding of networking concepts, configurations, and network security.
To enhance their IT service management skills, participants will undertake ITIL®4 Foundation, which introduces best practices for managing IT services efficiently. Additionally, the Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator module will train learners in managing and securing Microsoft 365 services, making them proficient in enterprise IT environments.
With the growing demand for Apple device management, the course includes Supporting and Managing Apple Devices, where participants learn how to configure, secure, and troubleshoot macOS and iOS systems. Furthermore, soft skills are integrated through courses like Promote Customer-Centric Innovations and Support Workplace Improvements & Innovations, ensuring learners develop strong customer service, problem-solving, and workplace efficiency skills.
Entry Requirements
Academic Level Required:
• Minimum NITEC in preferably Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics related discipline
Language Proficiency:
• Be able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5 • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 6 • Well versed in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
