About This Course
This Specialist Diploma in Sustainable Digital Manufacturing focuses on regulations, tools, and technologies in the area of sustainability for the manufacturing sector. It equips manufacturing supervisors and engineers or participants with equivalent roles with the knowledge and skillsets to implement sustainability framework and solutions in their companies and industry.
Participants will gain knowledge of the use of AI and along with emerging manufacturing technologies to come up with solutions in optimising the production processes. They will also understand how energy monitoring system can be implemented for monitoring and reporting purposes.
Participants will be kept abreast of the latest sustainability regulations and guidelines from local government agencies and global governing bodies. This ensures currency providing participants with a clear direction towards the advancement of sustainable development efforts and practices in their companies and industry.
What You'll Learn
• Explain the global targets towards sustainability and climate action and how it affects multinational companies (MNCs) and small medium enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore.
• Plan for changes in company’s processes to meet the Singapore Government’s policies and legislation towards sustainability.
• Apply industry 4.0 technologies and methodologies to collect and monitor manufacturing processes to gain insight into efficiency and energy usage.
• Perform basic energy monitoring and auditing for process improvement and identification of issues.
• Apply artificial intelligence to make decisions to improve manufacturing processes to reduce cost and resource wastage, improving the product lifecycle.
Entry Requirements
Applicants need to have a minimum diploma qualification in Engineering from recognised institutions.
Individuals with a minimum diploma qualification in other engineering or relevant fields will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be subjected to interviews or tests before they can be considered for enrolment.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
