About This Course
The Skillsfuture Career Transition Programme Certificate in Food Safety and Analysis is a structured 3-month programme aimed at equipping participants with essential knowledge and hands-on skills in food safety, microbiology, and quality management systems. The course prepares participants to meet the increasing demands for food safety professionals such QA&QC Supervisors, QA&QC Specialist / Food Safety Specialist, Laboratory Technician / QC Technician in the food industry by focusing on practical and theoretical aspects of food science, safety regulations and analytical methods.
What You'll Learn
Upon successful completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
• Analyse foodborne microorganisms and conduct laboratory tests for food safety.
• Implement quality management and food safety systems (HACCP, ISO 22000) to ensure food safety compliance.
• Develop compliant food labels under Singapore Food Regulations.
• Apply chemistry concepts to analyse food components such as fats, proteins, and moisture.
( SCTP) Certificate in Food Safety and Analysis will be conducted in nine modules delivered via Classroom and Async e-learning:

3. Quality Management System
4. Food Safety Management Systems
5. Food Regulations & Labelling
6. Analytical Methods in Food Science
7. Instrumental Analysis in Food Science
8. Applied Food Chemistry
9. HACCP Project
Entry Requirements
Target learners (MER)
1. GCE ‘O’ Level(with Minimum of 3 relevant GCE ‘O’ Levels passes and 1 year relevant working experience)
2. NITEC or Higher NITEC learners from the NITEC in Applied Food Science, NITEC in Chemical Process Technology, Higher NITEC in Chemical Technology, Higher NITEC in Biotechnlogy and Higher NITEC in Applied Food Science.
3. Diploma graduates (any disciplines)
4. Any relevant formal certificate
Recognition for Prior learning (RPL) for Food Science
-At least 2 years of relevant working experience (subject to interview/assessment)
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to be course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or proficiency test.
