"Must be PD!" : Social Work Intervention with Persons with Borderline Personality Disorder (Classroom and Asynchronous e-Learning)
About This Course
Objectives:
At the end of the programme, participants are expected to achieve the following objectives:
1. Attain an understanding of the aetiology, symptomology and evidence-based treatment for persons with borderline personality disorders.
2. Ability to appreciate the effects of the symptoms of borderline personality disorder on afflicted individuals, their families, and social and helping systems.
3. Develop an understand and management of self harm behaviours in persons with borderline personality disorders disorders.
4. Ability to apply knowledge and skills in taking a systemic approach to the management of cases related to persons with borderline personality disorder.
Application:
At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to be able to do the following:
1.Enable social workers to detect symptoms/presentations of persons with borderline personality depressive disorders for prevention and early treatment, counselling or casework support.
2.Ability to engage and engage persons with borderline personality disorder, their families and the social system
3. Ability to manage self harming behavioiurs in persons with personality disorder.
4.Apply a multi-disciplinary and community -based approach to working with persons afficted with borderline personality disorder and their significant others.

At least a Bachelor degree in social work, counselling, or any related discipline
