What You'll Learn

The aim of this module is to introduce participants to programming using the Python programming language, with a specific focus on data science. This means the skills and knowledge required to conduct and problem solve data science experiments programmatically.

Upon completing the module, participants will be able to analyse data science problems and conduct experiments by assembling a series of computer instructions to solve problems programmatically. Participants will be able to explain and write computer instructions that employ the use of variables, input and output statements, decision making constructs, repetition constructs and functions. They will also learn to test and debug computer programs to ensure that programs perform as they are intended to. Popular libraries used for data science will also be covered.
