About This Course

The participants will be involved in real projects in BIMing up an identified town for discussion purpose. Extensive hands-on training will be provided to produce BIM models to manage the facilities of HDB blocks of the Town. The participants will gain understanding of (1) how BIM models are developed and how to handle BIM models for facilities management purpose; (2) how BIM models can be accessed through 5G mobile applications and how to handle BIM models for Facilities Management (FM) purpose; and (3) how to handle COBie (Construction Operation Building Information Exchange) and manage COBie files, GIS (Geographical Information System) and what is the future of 5G, GIS in Facilities Management.

What You'll Learn

This course covers the role of 5G in smart facilities management as well as nature and potential of BIM as a format for exchanging digital and spatial information in facilities management of towns. This will incorporate NUS Integrated System for Facilities Management using 5G network for making processes and decisions. It is designed to (1) ensure participants gain strong theoretical foundations for knowledge and a keen understanding of real-life applications using 5G platform; and (2) working towards making this course relevant and having participants work collaboratively on real-life problems for managing smart town using 5G mobile application.

Diploma and Degree holders with working experience in facilities management/built environment.
