I Say I Can Do It!
About This Course
Resilience … it’s a familiar word, isn’t it? But what does it really mean?
All children are capable of working through challenges and coping with stress. When we talk about resilience, we’re talking about a child’s ability to cope with ups and downs, and bounce back from the challenges they experience during childhood – for example bullying, teasing, insulting by adults, changing centres or dealing with the death of a loved one. It’s not something that children either have or don’t have; it’s a skill that young children develop as they grow.
And when children overcome setbacks and problems, it builds their confidence and helps them feel more capable the next time a problem comes up.
“It’s your ability to withstand adversity and bounce back and grow despite life’s downturns,” says Amit Sood, MD.
