What You'll Learn

Resilience … it’s a familiar word, isn’t it? But what does it really mean? How does it relate to children’s emotional wellness?
All children are capable of working through challenges and coping with stress. When we talk about resilience, we’re talking about a child’s ability to cope with ups and downs, and bounce back from the challenges they experience during childhood – for example bullying, teasing, insulting by adults, changing centres or dealing with the death of a loved one. It’s not something that children either have or don’t have; it’s a skill that children develop as they grow. And when children overcome setbacks and problems, it builds their confidence and helps them feel more capable the next time a problem comes up.
“It’s your ability to withstand adversity and bounce back and grow despite life’s downturns,” says Amit Sood, MD This workshop provides educators / educarers on identifying the signs of emotional stress and/or abuse, procedures to handle cases, as well as to explore innovative ways to help build children’s resilience through practical tips, hands on activities and related Chinese expression enhancement.
