Advanced Certificate in Early Years (ACEY) (Classroom & Synchronous e-Learning)
About This Course
"The ACEY trains students to work with children from birth to 36 months, where they will receive an EY2 educator certification from ECDA upon successful completion of the course.
The ACEY has a course duration of 600 hours with 10 modules, clustered in 2 Modular Certificates, to be completed within 8-14 months."
What You'll Learn
1. Observe and document children’s behaviours which will enable them to understand the development and learning of children from birth to three; years of age and how to set up environments for exploration and play;
2. Acquire an understanding of the guiding principles, outcomes and sub-outcomes of the Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) and how to apply them to their practice with young children and families;
3. Ensure safety, health, hygiene and nutritional needs of children and their well-being are supported;
4. Interact with children respectfully, responsively and reciprocally in order to build trusting relationship which is fundamental for learning and development;
5. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues, families and community stakeholders to support children’s care, experiences and development; and
6. Engage in reflective practice."
Entry Requirements
Local Qualification
1. Completed Secondary 4 education; and
2. attained WSQ Workplace Literary Statement of Attainment (SOA) (Level 5) or other English Language Acceptable Alternatives (ELAA);
OR
attained Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK)(Level 5) and HSK Speaking Test (HSKK) (advanced level) or ECDA-Chinese-Language-Acceptable-Alternatives.
Foreign Qualification
1. Completed 10 years of formal education*; and
2. attained WSQ Workplace Literary Statement of Attainment (SOA) (Level 5) or other English Language Acceptable Alternatives (ELAA).
OR
attained Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK)(Level 5) and HSK Speaking Test (HSKK) (advanced level) or ECDA-Chinese-Language-Acceptable-Alternatives
