About This Course
Our course, which focuses on Web Design and Development using HTML5 and CSS3, is primarily geared toward individuals and organisations that create and maintain websites and web applications. This encompasses a vast array of industries, including e-commerce, digital marketing, education, government, non-profit, and entertainment, as well as aspiring web developers and designers seeking to improve their skill sets. HTML5 and CSS3 training is necessary due to the ever-changing digital landscape, which necessitates a solid foundation in these technologies to create responsive, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing web experiences. This course will provide learners with a thorough understanding of the most recent web design processes and workflows, enabling them to create websites that are modern, user-friendly, and compatible with multiple devices and platforms. Through a combination of interactive lectures, peer learning, hands-on exercises, and labs, learners will gain the practical experience they need to design, develop, publish and manage websites.
What You'll Learn
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
LO1. Establish the desired features and functionalities of websites based on sound design principles and a review of feasibility (considering the strengths and limitations of HTML5 and CSS3), costing, and trade-offs
LO2. Build the process and information flow across the planned website and individual webpages based on relevant design patterns and principles
LO3. Develop the prototype of a responsive website using HTML5
LO4. Develop the graphical user interfaces for the website prototype using CSS3
LO5. Review and improve website design based on usability tests and/or inspections
LO6. Create useful user guides and signposting on the developed website to enhance usability
LO7. Rationalise different aspects of the final website design
Entry Requirements
The learner should possess:
- At least a diploma in IT, scientific, mathematical or engineering discipline or equivalent. (Learners who do not meet the education requirements, but have at least 3 years of relevant work experience can be accepted on a case by case basis subject to approval by the Management Representative)
- At least 1 year of working experience in an IT-related role.
- A working knowledge of cloud computing and networking concepts (Prior programme experience will be advantageous)
- Be committed to attending the classes and complete the assessment of the course(s) applied for and does not have personal / official obstacles which will prevent him / her from attending classes and assessment.
- Laptop that meets the following requirements: OS (Windows 10 or MacOS at 64 bit or above), Min 20 GB HD space, Min 8 GB RAM, Webcam, Microphone and Internet Connect.
