(PDECCE-T) Apply Classroom Management Strategies, and Strategies to Observe and Document Children’s learning
About This Course
This module focuses the utilisation of observations and documentations of children’s learning and development, to gain an in-depth understanding of each child, develop appropriate activities and create an environment that is conducive to teaching and learning. It also includes responding to questions from colleagues and families about children’s behaviour, maintaining confidentiality of young children and their families and collaborating with colleagues to assess impact of observation and documentation techniques adopted.
A broad set of child observations skills and ways to conduct and interpret a variety of means of child assessment, both formal and informal will be covered. Methods of assessment will include systematic observations, use of screening instruments, interviewing techniques, rating scales, portfolios and anecdotal records.

2. The ability to:
a. Utilise observations and documentation of children’s learning and development to inform practice
b. Gain an in-depth understanding of each child
c. Support the planning process and develop appropriate activities based on observations of children in the group
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have:
* 5 GCE ‘O’ level credits including a grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ level English Language OR Any English Language Acceptable Alternatives
OR
* 10 years of formal education in English as a medium of instruction and passed state exam with credits in 5 different subjects OR required to pass English Language
OR
* Degree with English as medium of instruction from state recognised university OR required to pass English Language Acceptable Alternatives
