(PDECCE-T) Integrate Respectfulness, Responsiveness and Reciprocity within the Curriculum
About This Course
This module focuses on the components of a quality programme for infants and toddlers in group care and how to provide for their needs, growth, and interests day to day. The importance of the caregiver's role, building relationships with children and parents, an examination of criteria for quality infant / toddler curriculum are also covered. Approaches, techniques, and materials to use in caring for infants and toddlers in a group setting, methods for developing age-appropriate curriculum and setting up learning environments will be discussed. With the educational functions of play, emphasis will be given using play to enrich the infant / toddler curriculum. Students will also learn how to plan, design and present activities for areas of the infant / toddler curriculum based on observations of their development and needs and how to keep records of these observations.

Entry Requirements
Applicants should have:
* 5 GCE ‘O’ level credits including a grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ level English Language OR Any English Language Acceptable Alternatives
OR
* 10 years of formal education in English as a medium of instruction and passed state exam with credits in 5 different subjects OR required to pass English Language
OR
* Degree with English as medium of instruction from state recognised university OR required to pass English Language Acceptable Alternatives
