(PDECCE-T) Early Childhood Visual Arts
About This Course
Appreciating and creating art should begin at an early age. Art provides an important avenue for young children to express their feelings and ideas in a creative way. Children are spontaneous and imaginative by nature. Through participating in a variety of hands-on activities, children grow and develop creatively, aesthetically, socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Hence, the emphasis in the early years is on the artistic process rather than the finished product.
This module aims to help teachers to focus on visual arts and the artistic processes to facilitate learning in young children. Students will also develop an appreciation of the visual arts.
