(ACEY) Facilitate the Continuity of Care and Education between the Home and Centre
About This Course
Young infants and toddlers strive on relationships that help them build a sense of trust and security, which in turn develop confidence and build a sense of identity. Respectful relationships with families are needed to form positive relationships between educarers and families and children, and these positive relationships motivate the development of young children.
This module explores the various issues affecting relationships between the centre, caregivers and families. It addresses techniques needed for effective two-way communication, conferencing and meetings. Students will learn the approaches and techniques for working with parents in infant and toddler programmes. Strategies for planning and leading parent-teacher conferences, effective techniques for communicating with parents, and ideas for parental involvement in early childhood programmes will also be discussed. Students will learn the approaches and strategies to engage in effective communication with parents which would include both oral and written communication.
