(ACEY/CCP) Assist in Observation and Documentation of Children’s Learning
About This Course
Observation is fundamental in a quality infant toddler programme. Observation and gathering of data on infants and toddlers’ needs and behaviours enable educarers to identify ways and make plans to support individual development. Observing and understanding young children’s needs, abilities and skills, and making appropriate responses help to build trust and security between caregivers and children. This module covers a broad set of child observation skills and ways to conduct and interpret a variety of means of child assessment, both formal and informal. Use of observational data for curriculum planning will also be covered.
