(ACECCE-E) Assist in Observation and Documentation of Children's Learning
About This Course
Observation is fundamental in a quality early childhood programme. Observation and gathering of data on toddlers and preschoolers’ needs and behaviours enable educators to identify ways and make plans to support individual development. Observing and understanding young children’s needs, abilities and skills, and making appropriate responses help to build trust and security between educators and children. This module covers a broad set of child observation skills and ways to conduct and interpret a variety of means of child assessment, both formal and informal. Use of observational data for curriculum planning will also be covered.
