(ACECCE-E) Fitness and Fun Movement for the Young
About This Course
Early childhood programmes should not only help children develop intellectually but also socially, emotionally and physically. Children enjoy running around and moving different parts of their body, and they need opportunities to use movement as a vehicle for creative expression and to develop confidence in their ability to move. Physical activities promote
optimal growth and development of the nervous system, refinement of perceptual abilities, and proficiency of neuromuscular skills, self-concept and self-esteem.
The focus of this module is on the development of young children’s gross and fine motor abilities and skills. Students will be exposed to a variety of fun and fitness activities that are developmentally appropriate to be integrated into the early childhood curriculum.
