(ACECCE-E) Assist in Setting Up Quality Learning Environments
About This Course
The physical environment affects the way young children develop, learn and behave. Arrangement of space, equipment and materials affect the way children interact with each and learning. Environments in early childhood settings should be designed to promote the types of behaviour valued by communities, families and staff. This module is aimed to help teachers understand the importance of planning the physical environment and its impact on children’s total development. Discussions will be made on creating areas of interest in the classroom, planning the outdoor environment, what materials promote learning, how materials should be organised, and what safety guidelines need to be followed.
