About This Course

This module is part of the Post-Diploma Certificate in Production (Specialist Diploma in Digital Content Creation for Business).

What You'll Learn

This module covers the skills and techniques needed to create 3D art assets such as characters, creatures, props, and environmental assets, and optimise them for games, and other digital media. Learners will learn how to model 3D objects, apply textures, rig, and animate them. Furthermore, learners will also learn to optimise and prepare 3D assets to be imported into a real time environment, such as game, 3D visualisation, augmented reality, and virtual reality. At the end of this module, learners will be able to produce 3D art assets according to an effective content creation workflow and integrate them into a range of digital interactive applications. They will learn to describe and apply tools and techniques to model and animate 3D art assets. They will be able to determine and apply appropriate techniques for producing the textures for the surface of the 3D models. They will then create rigging structures for 3D models that conform to technical specifications. By the end of the module, they will ultimately be able to determine, optimise, and publish 3D art assets in games, immersive media, and interactive applications.
Module Outcomes:
1. Describe and apply tools and techniques to produce 3D assets that are optimised for interactive applications and immersive media
2. Produce rigging structures for 3D models that conform to industry-standard requirements
3. Animate 3D objects to depict a dynamic scene that can be published to interactive applications and immersive media
