Advanced Clinical Techniques For Anterior Eye Disease, Cataracts and Glaucoma (Classroom and Asynchronous e-learning)
About This Course
The module will focus on enhancing optometrists’ knowledge and skills in performing their duty of care as a clinical optometrist practicing in the community. The specialized skills have been stipulated in the Competency Framework of Clinical Optometry and Community Services (COCS), approved by Ministry of Health.
• Van Herrick Angle Assessment
• Goldmann Applanation Tonometry (GAT)
• Red reflex
• Anterior Chamber (AC) cell assessment

At the end of the module, all students will be assessed on their competency in performing the above tests.
Entry Requirements
The candidates must be fully registered with The Optometry and Opticianry Board (OOB) and have obtained at least one of the following qualifications.
(a) a recognised university degree or higher qualifications in optometry.
(b) optometry degrees from any private universities run in Singapore before, such as Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Singapore Polytechnic-University of Manchester Optometry Degree Programme, Aston University external degree programme.
(c) degrees in Life/Health Sciences but possess a valid practicing certificate in optometry and have at least two years of relevant experience.
