Advanced Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance - Practical Training in Aircraft Materials and Hardware
About This Course
This course is aligned with Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) SAR-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licensing requirements that provide the essential basic practical skills necessary for Cat B1 (Mechanical) and Cat B2 (Avionics) trainee aircraft engineers to obtain his or her licenses.
The Practical Training in Aircraft Materials and Hardware is part of the Advanced Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance, comprises practical elements of the CAAS SAR-66 Module 6 (Materials and Hardware) and Module 7 (Maintenance Practices). This includes practical skills in engineering drawings, basic aircraft materials and hardware, and non-destructive inspection techniques.
This course is 1 of the 4 modules that will stack to an Advanced Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance, with a Certificate of Recognition (COR), recognized by CAAS, issued for the completion of the CAAS SAR-66 Modules 1 to 10 (Category B1 and B2).
What You'll Learn
1. Demonstrate practical skills relevant to aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) for aircraft hardware, materials, and maintenance practices as specified by Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Singapore Airworthiness Requirements Part 66 (SAR-66) Module 6 Materials and Hardware and Module 7 Maintenance Practices.
2. Select appropriate aerospace materials and hardware for maintenance, repair, overhaul or manufacturing of aircrafts in accordance with applicable original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals and organisational procedures.
3. Perform aircraft maintenance practices in accordance with applicable technical manuals and organisational procedures. This includes application of safety practices on aircraft, hangar and workshop facilities, use of appropriate tools, equipment and methods and interpretation of engineering drawings.
