Critical Thinking Series : Mastering Logic for Problem-Solving (Classroom and Asynchronous e-learning)
About This Course
This programme will focus on logical reasoning in critical thinking where students will apply hypothetical thinking in searching for solutions. The course will also engage students in experiential learning to identify structural similarities in seemingly unconnected elements while numerical sequences will be used to train the mind to discern meaningful patterns The Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE) will be used. FIE is a cognitive coaching approach that has been established for more than 60 years. It is based on the theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability and Mediated Learning Experience, which can modify cognition over time and make thinking more flexible. This programme invites you to start a lifelong journey of transformation as you experience first-hand how you can learn to exercise awareness and control over your cognitive functions and establish new habits of the mind. A pre- and post-dynamic assessment test is included so you can see progress in your own critical thinking ability. Mastering logic for problem-solving contributes to work skills as it is the foundation for applying logic to assess situations, identify solutions and make sound decisions. This is key part of creating clear arguments in workplace communication and assessing multiple relevant sources of information to resolve workplace issues, as well as planning, risk assessment, resource management and troubleshooting for project management. Mastery in this case involves developing flexibility of mind to adapt logical thinking to different contexts.
