About This Course
Upon completion of the module, students should be familiar with important skills in patient interviews, history taking, communications, as well as basic physical exam techniques utilized in the retail, ambulatory care and acute care settings. Students will be assessed mostly by Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
What You'll Learn
This course is aimed at imparting clinical and professional skills necessary for a successful patient encounter, with a focus on skills necessary to obtain thorough and accurate medical and medication histories, ensure proper documentation and writing of clinical SOAP notes, as well as, communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals. It will also allow the students to gain an understanding of the principles and methods of basic physical examination.
Entry Requirements
(a) Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (with or without Honours classification) or an equivalent qualification
(b) Registered pharmacists with the Singapore Pharmacy Council (or overseas equivalent), and holding a current and valid practicing certificate
(c) Candidates are preferred to have at least 1 years’ working experience as a patient‐care pharmacist post pre‐registration training
