(SCTP Module) RP Barista Upskill Certification Programme Level 1 (Classroom, Synchronous and Asynchronous)
About This Course
Republic Polytechnic is collaborating with Singapore Coffee Association (SCA) & ASEAN Coffee Institute (ACI) to upskill the F&B employees who are keen to deepen their barista and coffee-making skills. The RP Barista Upskill Certification programme consists of 3 levels, offering participants a gradual learning path, giving participants a sound foundation to build upon, should they decide to take subsequent certifications.

With each level, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the Barista modules. This course is also aligned to Skills Future Singapore (SSG) push for entrepreneurship, transforming their interest in coffee-making to business ventures, creating value for markets through innovation and operations for sustainable growth.
Under the careful guidance of lecturers/trainers from Republic Polytechnic’s School of Hospitality, participants are expected to learn and apply their knowledge and practical understanding of coffee.
What You'll Learn
• Describe the history of coffee and overview of Asia & ASEAN coffee industry
• Relate the seed to cup process of coffee beans
• Examine the various factors that affect a coffee’s aroma, taste and flavour
• Demonstrate the basics of grinding, dosing, tamping and milk frothing through operating an espresso machine and grinder
• Demonstrate the basics of espresso machine and grinder maintenance
