About This Course

This course is recommended for existing or potential unmanned aircraft pilots, professional engineers, facilities personnel, or anyone who intend to operate an unmanned aircraft for facade inspection. The purpose of this course is to provide applicants with theoretical knowledge in accordance with Building and Construction Authority (BCA) TR78-1/2, practical knowledge and competency to plan and execute façade inspection with Unmanned Aircraft (UA), perform defects analysis and operate a basic tethered UA system.

What the course will cover:
1. Identify issues related to Facade falling hazards, responsibility, periodic facade inspection and maintenance.
2. Identify types of facades in Singapore
3. Identify Common problems with façades.
4. Understand BCA’s Periodic Façade inspection requirements TR78-1/2.
5. Perform Basic Flight Planning and Risk Assessment.
6. Perform defects analysis with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
7. Generate sample Building Façade Inspection report.
8. Operate a basic tethered UA system.

What You'll Learn

By the end of the course, you will be able to plan and perform façade inspection with Unmanned Aircraft (UA) in accordance with Building and Construction Authority (BCA) TR78-1/2. You will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding in the following areas:

- Personal Data protection
- Recommended Practices for Personal data protection (PDP)
- Risk Assessment
- Building Façade Inspection report
- AI Capablities for façade inspection, anonymization and corresponding passing criteria
• Use Cases and advantages of UA for Façade inspection.
• Different methods to carry out UA façade Inspection.
• Limitations of UA for facade inspection.

2. Practical exercises:
• Understand the workflow for Building Inspection with UA
• Perform risk assessment.
• Able to plan the correct flight profile for various scenarios.
• Perform simulated facade inspection flights.
• Perform Post processing:
- Manually Identify and tag defects from preset data
- Utilize AI to identify and tag defects from preset data.
• Generate sample Building Façade Inspection report.
• Operate a basic tethered UA system.
