About This Course
This module is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure robust data security and privacy within their organizations. Participants will learn to identify security vulnerabilities, implement effective protection measures, and comply with regulatory requirements like Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). The course provides a comprehensive overview of cybersecurity essentials, focusing on safeguarding data, as well as practical guidance on creating a secure data infrastructure. Through a combination of theoretical insights and hands-on exercises, participants will gain the tools needed to protect sensitive information and foster a culture of security and privacy within the workplace.
What You'll Learn
1. will understand the importance of security in computer systems and its impact on businesses and organizations. They will learn how to implement procedures that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. Additionally, participants will develop the skills to identify and analyse potential security threats and vulnerabilities within their organization. They will also apply both technical and non-technical methods to safeguard and protect information across various business contexts.
2. will have an in-depth understanding of Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and its practical application in organizational data governance. They will be equipped with the skills necessary to develop and implement risk-based tools that establish a robust data protection infrastructure. This includes gaining the knowledge to effectively manage personal data, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Participants will be prepared to undertake the computer-based examination to obtain the Practitioner Certificate for Personal Data Protection, co-issued by the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and the International Association for Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
