About This Course
This course is designed primarily for the training of individuals who are embarking on a career in the security industry, and are required to perform duties such as:
1. Understanding the Infrastructure Protection Act and its purpose.
2. Managing entries into protected area and protected place.
3. Managing suspicious incidents involving persons or vehicle at specific areas of protected area and protected place.
4. Managing suspicious intelligence gathering at specific surrounding areas of protected area and protected place.
This course is designed primarily for the training of security officers performing the role of a licensed security officer or auxiliary police officer performing duties at protected areas and places. Entry requirements ensure that learning is pitched at a correct level for a specific target audience.
This course seeks to equip learners with the essential knowledge and skills required for “Perform Security Duties at Protected Areas and Protected Places” related duties in adherence to the organisational procedures and Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA). Furthermore, all officers must be trained and certified prior to their deployment as necessitated by The Police Licencing and Regulatory Department (PLRD).

Entry Requirements
Learners are assumed to:
• Be able to read, write and speak English at WSQ WPL Level 2
• Be able to read from a computer monitor and see from a distance
• Possess basic skills in operating a computer
• Be truthful and honest
• Have sense of duty and responsibility on the job
• Be disciplined and able to follow instructions when given
They must:
Be certified by a medical doctor to be physically fit for work as a security officer.
Not be colour-blind or hearing impaired.
Possess a security licence.
