About This Course
This course is designed primarily for the training of individuals who are embarking on a career in the security industry, and are required to perform duties such as:
• Prepare Work Activities
• Guard Static Position
• Patrol Premises
• Handle Telephone Calls
• Handle Theft Incident in Accordance with SOPs
• Handle alarm incidents in Accordance with SOPs
• Hand Over Duties
This course is targeted at newcomers to the security sector in Singapore. This course is one of 3 mandatory modules required by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) Police Licencing and Regulatory Department (PLRD) to obtain a security officer license. Within the primary target sector, security agencies must ensure that their security officers meet the necessary Progressive Wage Model (PWM) training requirements prior to deployment.
This course seeks to equip learners with the essential knowledge and skills required to “Provide Guard and Patrol Services and Operate Basic Security Equipment” and other related duties in adherence to the organizational procedures at their site of deployment. Furthermore, all officers must be trained and certified prior to their deployment as necessitated by The Police Licencing and Regulatory Department (PLRD).

Entry Requirements
Learners are assumed to:
• Be able to read, write and speak English at WSQ WPL Level 1
• Be able to read from a computer monitor and see from a distance
• Possess basic skills in operating a computer
• Be truthful and honest
• Have sense of duty and responsibility on the job
• Be disciplined and able to follow instructions when given
They must:
Be certified by a medical doctor to be physically fit for work as a security officer.
Not be colour-blind or hearing impaired.
