What You'll Learn
CHS201 examines the general situation and important works of writers in the field of Chinese literature from 1917 to 2000, highlighting the literary trends of thought, literary movements and literary creation. Students will attain a general and overall understanding of the development process and basic characteristics of Chinese literature in the 20th century, recognise and evaluate the works of important writers in various periods from the perspective of history and aesthetics and comprehensively analyze the general situation of important writers’ literary works and their ideology and status in literary history. This instalment covers the following topics: trends of thought, novels and new poems.
