About This Course
The main target learners for this course are security personnel who are assigned to work in premises that requires them to provide security protection through regulation of movement, and to perform frontline duties such as:

2. Prepare person for security screening.
3. Perform security screening of person with walk-through and hand-held metal detectors.

Within the primary target sector, security agencies must ensure that their security officers meet the necessary training requirements prior to deployment at screening of bag and person areas. Apart from the acquisition of new skills to increase productivity or for career progression, security officers become valuable to their agencies with these extra skills set.
This course seeks to equip learners with the essential knowledge and skills required to perform “Conduct Security Screening of Person and Bag” related duties in adherence to the organisational procedures, and to handle security screening at their site of deployment. Furthermore, all officers must be trained and certified prior to their deployment as necessitated by The Police Licencing and Regulatory Department (PLRD).
Recent job opportunities for security officers considering the current virus pandemic saw the need to conduct crowd control activities such as the regulation of crowd and traffic movement, and to prevent unauthorised entry at densely populated sites. Hence, the need for training to enable learners to develop skills to meet the demand for such security services.
